Premodern Metagame Update: March 2026
The first full metagame after the Parallax Tide ban has settled, and it is healthier than the lock-dominated weeks that preceded it. The complete, cited breakdown — grouped by bucket with win-rate context — is in the March 2026 metagame snapshot.
The decks to beat
GW Enchantress posted a format-leading win rate across tracked 2025 matches and rose to the top once the ban removed its worst matchup. Stiflenought kept its Phyrexian Dreadnought and Stifle core untouched through the ban and remains the format boogeyman. Replenish lost the Tide plan but still took an MTGO Premodern Challenge in-window with a 9-0 record.
The wider field
With land exile gone, The Rock and other fair midrange decks no longer fold to the lock and have re-entered the conversation. For the full roster, win-rate sourcing, and tier context, read the metagame analysis and the tier list.
