Premodern Arrives on Magic Online

In mid-December 2025, Premodern launched on Magic Online — a milestone for a community-created format. MTGO access dramatically widened the player base, bringing the 1995–2003 card pool to players who never owned the paper cards, and Premodern Challenges now run several times a week, generating a steady stream of metagame data.

The price effect

Digital demand moved paper prices. Replenish staples climbed from roughly $120 in late December to nearly $300 during the Parallax Tide ban week in January 2026.
